Wooot! I just traded in my 2013 KIA Rio for a 2014 Scion FR-S. I got rid of my little "Boring" black automatic hatchback, it just had to go... Im loving the 6 speed rwd toyobaru , i love how easy it is to get the back end to slide. Sorry the pictures are a tad bit blurry, i took them with my Ipod, im going to borrow my sisters camera and post some more later. Attachments:

Whaaaa?!? you got a forzaIRL A500 cheater car?!?! Hahahaha but really, thats awesome man! Does it live up to all the hype?? I've only sat in one, but i'd love to drive it.
Thats definitely a car to keep for a longgggggg time....it's going to be a great modding platform 5 years from now.

It is a fantastic car. Im babying the engine just a bit as it only has 157 miles on it. The manual says break in period is 1000 miles. People who say that this car needs more power, probably has never driven one. Not that an extra 30-40 bhp would hurt. The short gearing makes up for the lack of power. Its definitely perfect for everyday driving. I also love the boxers growl when I first start it up My only complaint is the handling, I have more confidence in throwing my moms turbo Juke into a corner making it stick and coming out alive. The Fr-s really does not instill that in me, I throw it into a corner and it slides, but more of that has to do with the shitty and expensive set of michelins that are on it. I love making the back end step out ever so slightly, but i would also love to blast through curves at an unreasonable speed.

But arent those tires on the car to make the car easy to drift? And the low grip level tires are hence intentional and there to make it more drifty? Nothing says you cant put on some pss instead:P Must be really nice on such a light car, even if the car seems really nice to drive no matter the tires on it:)

I wouldn't worry about breaking in the motor in. They get run at the shop quite a bit before they leave the line. Even when you build a new motor, the typical break in period is only something like 10 minutes on a dyno, or "300-500 miles" for old guys. Especially with new cars, the tolerances are so good that there's not really even a need for a break-in period longer than about a 5-10 minute run.
But, that's all just like how some guys in the long range shooting world will swear by "breaking in" their new barrel by firing a round, cleaning, firing two rounds, cleaning, etc up to about 10 rounds. I've never seen any documented account of someone doing a test and actually losing accuracy from it, but about 50% of the shooting population will believe anything you tell them if it ends with "and you'll have better accuracy".
And I'm loving my flat-four haha. Torque is fast, but it still revs pretty high. Except mine only makes 80 horse, and it's carbureted, and it's 33 years old. Lol. Also, you have a paint folder now.

I actually didnt lose any money on the trade, I had it for 8 months out of a 60 month loan and at the rate i was paying I was going to have it completely paid off in 2 years. I bought the car at $15000, i had brought it down to $8,300 remaining, and i was given $10,000 for the trade, the KIA only had 4,500 miles on it and was in perfect condition, even had the new car smell still. @marco yeah the tires on the frs are prius tires, they are designed for decreased rolling resistance and a quiet ride. not so much for grip. @travis, good to know that i can push the car hard now the manual was saying i couldnt go over 4,000 rpm, which was driving me crazy.

What does the toyobaru cost new thou? If you dont mind me asking? How's the coupe? Is it small? I remember you saying you were quite a small guy so it shouldnt be a problem really if thats the case. As long as you can reach the pedals:P

Yeah the coupe is quite small, my afro actually flattens out because of how low the roof is, the rear seats are kind of pointless and a normal sized adult would be not able to fit back there. I was able to get the car on a steal, the one i have isnt optioned out, and costs around $25,500. But they lowered the price significantly because the car was sitting out on the lot since July, and since winter is right around the corner, they wouldnt really be able to move it. I ended up getting it at around $22,000. And ill have it fully paid off in about 2 1/2 years. Other than my car payment, car insurance, and cell phone bill, I really dont have any other bills. Thats whats awesome about living with my parents, and have a job that pays well.

That's a sweet deal. Kinda jealous. With not having a steady job but jumping around as a sub and only getting a few months a time I either pay a car up front cash or get a job that's at least 6 months so I can loan it. Splashing my savings on a car just seems.. Stupid, no? So yeah, fuck you Sam;) But congratulations. The FR-S/GT86 is a really cool car! And if you own it in 2 years time it's even better. You must get some good credit too with doing deals like that, paying it off quickly.
Just checked what the gt86 costs at dealers here in Malmö. 44k. So yeah.. That's a steal lol

Marco, you would probably be able to get that new Alfa 4C easier haha. For some reason, I really want that car. Except with an LSX 454 Swap. Sam, you should check out what MotoIQ did for their BRZ/FRS whatever. Functional aero with a rear valance, front splitter, and a functional wing. It looked gnarly as hell. -Travis

The 4C do seem nice. Looks like a nimble and fun car to drive but Im still only set on getting a beemer. Not dead set on a M3 anymore thou, but more and more leaning towards a 1M, even if they cost a bit more. But Im not buying anything until I know I have a job that means I dont have to move yet again. But it seems there is a permanent opening at my current workplace after new year. So if I do get it, there'll be a 1M parked outside my apartment the day after. The funny thing is, just opposite of my window at work there is a bmw-dealer. And standing in the window is a white 1M, just teasing me:( I want it so badly, but I have to have some sort of self control. But incase I suddenly disappear from blackadder/iracing Ive probably lost my self contrl, bought it and crashed it and met my maker lol.

Ugh Sam, if you only knew how much you buying a fr-s has made me want to just go out and buy a car lol! I've been building a steady budget for months so I can just avoid loans and stuff like that, and still have a few months to go until Im on budget, but now I just want to have a car!! Not that I need one at all, buying one is just for my enjoyment and I really dont need a car for transportation sake, but the materialistic urge in me is just sooooo big! I want me a bad ass trackday car now lol!

Honestly, if you guys want project cars, look on craigslist or head over to a scrap yard. Lots of times they'll have a straight body with a blown motor, blah blah blah. I saw a brand new V6 Mustang in the paper around here that had water damage AND it started an electrical nightmare. We're talking 2013 mustang with probably 3000 miles, and they wanted something like $5300 for it IIRC. That'd be the perfect car to gut the interior, drop in a Coyote motor or go all badass oldschool and shoehorn a 460 into it, and have the dopin'est ride in town for less than what it'd cost to buy a stock one off the line haha.

EDIT: And as much as I bitch about my bike, it would have been immaculate and done by now if I actually had a budget. Right now it is a shoestring budget build and it STILL is turning out pretty damn good so far. I have to replace a couple more o-rings and such and throw a good set of rubber on it, but other than that, it's a completely different feeling to start up a bike that you've personally wrenched into existence. Same with the Camaro. Even though it set me back thousands of dollars and it was financially probably the biggest oversight in our solar system, given the chance I'd do it again in a heartbeat lol.

The moto IQ car looks insane! but... not my style lol. The list of mods is short right now, but here it is for the time being and in the order of importance.
-matte black or grey Toyota badges, and remove the FR-S badge thats on the lower right of the trunk. -add the OEM rear spoiler -replace the Air intake -replace the muffler -replace the front and rear sway bars. -tint the windows
thats all on my list for now.
