"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"
When did this become something that people have overlooked? Is it due to the vast rise in 3rd wave feminism and so called man hating? or is it just due to people feeling that someone offending them is cause for alarm and somehow gives them the right to silence the other party?
News flash UNFORTUNATELY being offended is completely situational and somethings that offends one may not affect another.
Im highly offended by the man bun haircut, the inability of some people to atleast attempt to learn the native language of a place they have relocated to, and last of all plain stupidity.
Does this give me the right to tell people to change their haircut or to "speak english" because i feel offended by them? Interested to hear what other people have to say on the matter.

I was at school today in shop class and theres 5 of us working on shit at a table and just talking like guys do in shop. Some foreign woman came up and used the table beside us even though there were atleast 20 and asked us to move or stop being rude. Does this count? Granted I told her to fuck off but like seriously...
Also Canada is the perfect example of what Elliot is saying here. We're changing the lyrics to our anthem because it said man in it....OH JESUS CHRIST NO. WE'RE WORST THAN HITLER! Also we're just becoming the biggest pussies. Im going to sound like Trump here but if you move somewhere from another country, dont like something either suck it up in silence or go the fuck back to where you came from.

In Sweden we have always since i was born (think it started in the 1950's) watched Kalle Anka (donald duck) on chirstmas and when imigrants came from other countries they desided to cut half the fucking show and the only time it is on tv is during christmas day and the fun part is that the imigrants dont care, but the stupid government decided to cut every thing "rasist" out of it and i mean WHY... So yeah they have pretty much destroyed abit of my childhood because they are scared of a fight...

I can't stand ignorant people.
Besides that, read up on what third wave feminism is. I'd love to see valid reasons for why THAT is the reason people get butthurt easily or think they are entitled to something. Extremism is weird in any form, but third wave isn't extremism.
Also, the government had nothing to do with what you are describing Carl. It was Disney themselvs who cut out the pickaninny (and more was cut but the racists only cared to scream about the fact they couldn't watch a derogatory caricature of a black people obviously) and Disney sells this show to 40 or so countries around the world.
I honestly have a hard time seeing how 2 seconds of not seeing that pickaninny once a year will destroy your childhood.
But this is the funny side of getting offended. All different groups of people starts to cry wolf if it isn't valid. The outcry from what was mainly redneck racists, that you know bring up Carl, was equally or more ridiculous than the fact that Disney cut out 2 seconds of a TV-show. But if it ruined your childhood I feel really sorry for you.

Having lived in a truly racist country (South Africa during the apartheid years) AND having lived my life as an immigrant for half of it (14 years in South Africa and now 15 in Malaysia) I promise you that every small thing makes a difference. As a child I was a huge fan of Enid Blyton books but thinking back to those books now (the originals have been banned so what's available now are complete rewrites) the amount of racism, sexism etc in them was shocking - it's no wonder that my generation of British people have a high proportion of racist bigots in it.
But, this forum nor the team is the place for politics / racism / sexism of any kind nor was that, I believe, the original intention of the thread. Differences of opinions about things relating to iRacing and the team is fine but other stuff is just going to get removed by me - there's stuff posted by a number of people on the team on Facebook that I very strongly disagree with and have caused me to unfriend people or block their posts and I'll do exactly the same here.
Oh, and I've locked this thread.
