ok question time:
1) I keep failing negotiations with new unemployed designers. I seem to offer them way more then they are asking but they get insulted and stop negotiations. Am i doing something wrong? how much more should i be offering them?
2) i have gone into debt to build new facilites, do i need to worry about getting positive before the end of the season or can i just keep developing parts?
3) how do i develop parts for both cars? when i do it now it seems to only do it for 1 car
4) when i develop parts does it automatically improve the old ones or am i developing new parts all of the time?
5) 4 races, 3 safety cars, is this normal?
6) My cars always seem to get close to mechanical failure near the end of the race. How i know if other (opponent) cars are doing this?

ok question time: 1) I keep failing negotiations with new unemployed designers. I seem to offer them way more then they are asking but they get insulted and stop negotiations. Am i doing something wrong? how much more should i be offering them? Is it perhaps because of the contract length?2) i have gone into debt to build new facilites, do i need to worry about getting positive before the end of the season or can i just keep developing parts? Debts usually is no problem, but I would stop developing parts as soon as you see that they are developed enough to win races, but consider, in case you are in debts by the end of the season you will have less money for the new car in the following season3) how do i develop parts for both cars? when i do it now it seems to only do it for 1 car You only can develop parts for one car
4) when i develop parts does it automatically improve the old ones or am i developing new parts all of the time? The old parts will be replaced by the new developed part, but you also will have to improve the new part5) 4 races, 3 safety cars, is this normal? Can happen, yes 6) My cars always seem to get close to mechanical failure near the end of the race. How i know if other (opponent) cars are doing this? You don't know the mechanical state of your opponent's cars

Finally managed to fill in the spreadsheet, I get caught up in reloading save games in order to nail the setups. At least I got a 100% once in two races.
How much money is good at the end of the first season to be able to build a better car for next season?

Stephan basically as long as you're not in debt that will be enough

Okay, so I'm nearing the end of my 1st season. I read, that parts I build count into the next years car base values. Does that mean for performance value only or is reliability affected too? So is it worth improving reliability on those parts now to have better reliable parts next year or doesn't it matter at all? Because atm I'm pushing performance all the way on those risky parts.
I love this game, not so much the race strategy part but the management part feels awesome to me.

Don't do what i did and forget that you need about 10 million at year end for your car for the following season. (You get about 13m prize money). Develop parts as fast as you can, even if they're 'cheat' parts. At the lowest level good drivers make a difference, if you play with ZRT try and keep Valdes, he's a dickhead but he's fast and if he leaves you'll have a hard time attracting someone as good. Fire the reserve driver (just let contract lapse) you really don't need a reserve in my opinion and it's just extra cost for a good one so get rid of them. Design center upgrade is kinda 'meh', you're better off upgrading the factory to level 2, that will do you good for the entire of your time in the ERS. Engines are the most expensive item to build, i suggest you rapidly develop brakes and suspension first before developing gearboxes and engines last. Put your mechanics to work on reliability of engines and gearboxes until they are at least 80%. You can make do with starter engines for your first season. Always try to do the minimum number of pitstops possible unless there is rain in the race. Usually, you can do the race on a single stop with 80% tanks or 2 stops on 40% tanks. In practice get your race trim as high as possible (lvl 3 is 15% performance boost). Likewise, always run one tyre compound, i suggest the hardest tyres as you can tell your driver to push for longer. Mechanic bonuses like 'lightfooted' always best the practice performance boosts. (A potent combo at this level is race trim lvl 3 and lightfooted medium tyres). Get good drivers, i recommend shooting for 2.5 star minimum with a goal of 3 star if possible. The designer is not so important but ones with the 'epic' bonus of -1 risk are VERY handy to have. Race engineers, focus on bonuses, less so on other stats. One thing I'd add is to aim to recruit drivers (only the main drivers make a difference) with high marketability scores - it makes a big difference on what sponsors you attract. Also, save your votes (by abstaining most of the time) for the votes that really make a difference - ones about stock parts and the scoring system. Running the higher series with scoring systems that just give points to the top 5 is hard.

They've got GT Cars now as DLC! Wohoooo Yeah it's quite cool but fuel weight seems to make a HUGE difference. So, plan on doing at least 2, maybe even 3 stops.

It does John but also Tyres and Fuel aren't changed/filled at the same time in the GT series so I always start with a full tank to make my pitstops shorter.
