Well John beat me to it!
As you may have read in the last team announcement. Yep, I'm taking a break. So apologies my friends for leaving... And I don't know where to start. Well I guess I'll just start with how I feel right now. And I'm feeling a little beaten up and burnt out lately. It's ironic because I am at the peak of my iRacing career if you guys consider iRating as a basis of progress. Actually, that may have played a big part on this. I set a goal last season for myself to do well and I took everything seriously. I practiced, and practiced and raced and raced. And TBH I'm not disappointed at all. My goal was only to break the 3k iRating mark and call it good. Yes I did and even surpassed it. You know I always consider myself as a 2k guy only... more or less... So additional 1k is a big step up and a big deal for me. I know it's not that big of a deal for younger dudes but for a father and provider that goes to work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, that's a lot of effort. Yes I won 11 of my last 20 races, yeah I can celebrate! but no... I'm tired. I think even 4k or 5k is doable if I continue this trend, but that's just asking for it. I mean giving up social life, etc. So I felt it's time to call it quits. Or pause... I don't plan or wish to quit at all TBH.
Thanking everyone! Thank you all guys! I am so thankful to have found you guys! and iRacing! Thanks John for inviting me in! I am very proud to be a part of BAM even for a short time. I can't thank you enough and all the other guys that helped me here. Sai, Braith, Lewis, Marc, Allesandro... Basically everyone! And I honestly feel like I'm taking away more than I gave when I leave. And I feel bad about it. But I don't want any of you to feel bad about me. I'm not hanging my gloves yet. I'm not quitting SIM racing. I just need some rest. I just need to catch up with RL that's all.
My iRacing sub still have 2+ months. I think I will just squeeze out the value from it. So yeah you will still see me race and post comments in the forums. But no I won't be an ass just because I'm leaving. I still plan to get back. So no silly threads or comments in iRacing forums. I'm still planning to continue this but honestly, this can wait. My kid can't. My family can't. My wife's 15 year old cat cannot walk very well anymore, so he'll be needing some attention too very soon. I'm sure you guys know where this is going.
I don't know where to start and sure enough I don't know how to end this. I guess I'll just see you guys in the few remaining races that I can do. I will be in another SIM after my sub in iRacing expires, but I will come here every now and then to check you guys and what's going on in iRacing. Tease me! Annoy me! Tell me how good it is! Call me back and I may not be able to say no! Anyways, I guess that's it for now. Until the day I am shaking and vomiting from iRacing withdrawal!
Cheers!
