Only 9 days until I get to test my car out on a track for the first time! Ive just got word that the PSS I ordered will be on in time. I wasnt pleased with the tires on it, Bridgestone Potenza re11. I hope the pss will be enough for a track day. After all, wet weather is possible so buying pure slicks isnt really viable. I talked to a few guys at the shop and they had some tires I could possibly try, but they're wider than what I have on and Im not sure it will fit. I did look at getting a set of slicks so I wouldnt have to worry but Im not sure how many days I will get this year and if I buy a set I would like to use them. I havent had time to get a new set of brake pads, but I hope there is enough left in the current ones to actually be aggresive. Cant wait to try this little thing out thou. Ive been mightly impressed by how it performs on the street so far, actually keeping up with m3s (though I got my ass comprehensively handed to me by a crazy ass Porsche driver. Mind you, I had no expectations that my little bmw would stand a chance against a 991 gt3 lol. But it has a bit of grunt and the low weight, stiff chassis and tight gearing makes it quite a lot better than what I was originally expecting.
How are your experiences with track days? I kinda dont like bringing my own car. Not sure why thou haha. What's the best track days you've been at? I kinda want to do anyone from the major places that I know of. Palmer seems to be one of the best, looking at what you can drive there. Otherwise, nurburgring play host to a few and I know BMW have a few things too. I wasnt sure I was gonna pick the track day I did.The local BMW dealer hosts one just a few days after, and you get to try out the i3 and the 4-series. I wouldnt expect it to be an m4, but they generally bring something that is at least above entry level crap.
