Are you guys planning on watching it? At first, spec parts put me off together with it being electric. Then I understood that the regs open up prgoressively the coming years. But then the fan boost idea was heard of... I really cant believe they are serious. But when watching clips from the cars at Donington, I must say Im quite impressed. Sure, they arent the fastest cars ever built, but it will improve. And while some drivers are looking more like jokes, it's still some talent crammed into it all. Im actually quite optimistic. If nothing else, the pit stops will most assuredly become a joke. Imagine Heidfeld being on the way to win (lol) and trips over a patch of oil (or whatever slippery shit we could find in the pits) and sprains his ankle so he cant continue the race.

Here's my thing.... each racing series has what they're known for.....whether its watching for the endurance, the excitement/sounds of the cars, or the drama/battle between drivers etc etc. Formula E really doesnt add anything new to racing. At least when Formula D was launched, it added a new "style" of "racing" lol.
I mean dont get me wrong, i'll watch anything race......even lawn mowers. But in order for me to actually watch it and keep track of whats going on, then there needs to be really good driver battles/drama or else I really wont care to watch it.

LOL....I also read somewhere that Formula E is supposed to appeal to a "younger audience". I'm not sure if all races were going to be like this or just one of the opening races, but they were saying to enhance the 'lack of sound' from the cars, they are going to place DJs all around the track to add a "lively musical background". I almost slit my wrists right then and there.....

And about the music. I think they make it sound a whole helluva lot worse than it actually is. It's not unusual to have concerts at racing events, is it? You're american so I really thought you would be less negative towards it, since you guys never seem to be able to keep things apart, trying to attract all kinds of people to whatever events.

Turn 3 at the Indy 500 is pretty much hipster central, but thankfully because of the cars I DON'T HAVE TO HEAR THAT SHIT. Also this car pretty much goes against everything "merican" auto racing is. Way too much horse power and minimal technology (Nascar) or insane speed with decent tech (Indycar). If we can add more cylinders and make more noise, fuck yeah. So how do fans and club music do anything? I have this mental image of trying to create a rave mid-day at a race track for some reason, with some daft punk wanna be's playing.
