Loveeeeeee the World Challenge. This video showcases the classic Porsche GT3-R having the stereotypical braking/corning advantage with the Viper GT3-R having crappy brakes but tons of power and torques to makeup for it.
My question is, on the final move, who was correct? Was this a racing incident?
If you dont want to watch the full 11 minutes of awesomesauce, at least start half way through. You'll learn the drivers/cars strengths/weakness to better understand why the Porsche did what it did.

Looks like a pretty clear divebomb. I get the viper doesn't have the brakes but you at least have to position the car so the other driver can't take that line, not just try to annex space as the other driver is arriving. And out braking at the end of a long straight isn't the best play because that is going to be where you have the most distance to make up, even if he did manage that move the Viper would still blow by him on following straight. His best play was probably to maximize exit speed (which he hadn't been for several corners) and get a lot closer for a shorter straight where he could maximize the braking to his advantage and force the viper into a weak position.

Well d@mn...good answer. I was juggling between a dive domb or "being a jerk and closing the door", but then again I supposed the Viper was on his normal racing line. At the end of the day, it's up to the overtaking car to complete a clean pass.
Moral of the story, desperation leads to getting gangbanged from all sides and ending the day sore and limping home O.o lol
