I am happy with my triple screen, doesn't give me tunnel vision.

Just got email from Oculus that they are about to ship my Rift. Omg congratz! I'm still waiting... They tried about 4 weeks ago but without a heads up so my bank stopped it, they have a security system so I have to manually allow Internet purchase but I only lasts for 1h... It's all fixed now and they said I still have my position in queue but haven't heard anything more. Last estimate was a week ago..

So I've been using the Rift for 1½ week so far. I've had no problems with nausea when driving in iracing. I only get a slight turn in stomach if I'm in a 3rd person view with moving cameras (chopper, blimp, TV1-3 etc) for extended amounts of time.
Pure speed wise it has been a bit of set back, but I feel it's just a matter of adapting until I'll be back to my former speed. Where I foresee I'll keep being at somewhat of a disadvantage is in traffic as I had a very hard time judging where cars were around me once they moved to my 7-8 or 4-5 position. The real mirrors (in Ford GT and C6R) are just too small (or resolution too bad) to be adequate. With the introduction of the virtual mirror it will definitely improve, but I've only had one race with that yet and as I hadn't adjusted my overlay boxes before the race I unfortunately had my spotter text right over the mirror, so I was pretty much blind behind me when there was anything more than one car passing.
The actual fit of the helmet is fine. I've seen people complain about distracting light coming in at the bottom, but with my big nose it pretty much seals shut. That does lead to it getting pretty hot when doing long races however and it can get a bit distracting with a drop of sweat running down your nose or something itching and you can't really wipe it off.

Stefan, putting a small desk fan blowing at you helps. It kind of gives me the sensation of wind from the speed as well.

If possible try to angle it upward to the Rift as much as possible. Maybe some wind getting in there will help.
I had a pair of skiing goggles once that had a very tiny fan built into them to keep the lens from fogging. Maybe one day they will build something like that into our vr goggles.

Not for me. A friend of mine bought the first Oculus when it came out 800 x 600 res. I tried it and it made me feel sick. Also how would I see my buttons to change in car settings?

Jake, it has gotten SO much better since the beginning! Also, you develop a feel for the box after a while. In short time I could know where all the buttons and knobs were on my wheel and DSD box. Voice attack app helps big time too.

Voice attack app helps big time too. If someone I know buys them I'll see but until then triples will do. Plus my missus would kill me after spending $1200 on screens to want to buy the Oculus. I would need all my screens to fuck out at the same time to justify it. lol

How is the visibility in the mirrors? Can you actually see something or are the details not good enough? I'm a bit sceptic still. If it was halve the price I would have instant ordered one. But it's around 700-750 Euro's down here + to get the best out of if I'll have to invest in one of those newer graphics cars. If anyone in Holland or Begium has a rift let me know, I would like to try it.
