I think about building a three-screen-setup and have a technical question:
Can you configure one GTX 980 for the middle screen and one GTX760 (my current GPU) for the two other screens? Will that work with iRacing?
If yes, woow... how do I do dis? If not, screw dis shit!

Yes you can using windowed mode and SoftTH i believe but honestly nenad a single 980 will run 3 screens fine. Both me and stefan have ran 3 on a single 970 and i noticed zero difference in performance going to a 980ti. The game is cpu bound currently so a gpu only takes you so far but a single 980 will still make a good setup

Well... I think this depends on the resolution of the screens, right? I use an ASUS 27" 144hz with a resolution of 2560x1440... So do you think a 980 would do three of those with the same high framerate as I have now? (100-144FPS) Other idea is: If I make this switch, may be I will upgrade to three of this babys: look at dis beautyI would love it, if one single GTX980 would fit but: a. what should I do with my GTX760? b. do dis cards have 3 display-ports?

hmmm, tell you what, i'll dsr sample up to a 1440 res tonight and get back to you. It's not quite equivalent no but it should be close enough to give us an idea I suspect that the answer unfortunately is probably going to be no but i'm not convinced that wouldn't be true even with two cards to be honest with you. And yeah a 980 will have 3 display port outs

Yes you can using windowed mode and SoftTH Windowed mode is crap, because you cannot run 144 Hz in it... you have to run full screen mode with G-Sync.

Then it is not possible to run off two seperate cards unless you are running in sli and using nvidia surround i'm afraid But i will test 1440 on my system tonight to see if a 980 could be viable at that resolution. What tracks would you like me to test? I'm thinking a fair list would be something like: Nur COTA Daytona Night Summit Point LRP Donington That way i test 3 of the worst performing tracks, 1 ok one and 2 great performing ones. I'll just note min fps as that's really what's important

So Either a second GTX 760 or two new 980s...

Yeah and from running 2 x 970's the difference in iracing was basically nothing compared to a single card as iracing handles SLI very badly as far as I'm concerned. I'll see how mine runs tonight, if you can stretch to a 980Ti then it might be viable to run them at 1440p with gsync as I think that's what some people are doing on the iracing forums.

3 screens, 1 970 work just fine. Have to dial down some settings though. But since it came up here: I always run my 3 screens with Nvidia Surround. Is there any performance to be gained running it without that? Like put up 3 screens with Windows only or other options? Never wasted a thought in that.

That's to less for me... I'd like to run 7680x1440 = 11 Megapixel You have a resolution of 6,2 Megapixel. That's almost 80% more pixel to fill with color

I run 3 screens on a 780 with 5760x1080. I run iracing in windowed mode because I have my middle monitor running to a stream pc.
