Take a car like the corvette DP and pump tyres to maximum, reset rideheights to the minimum. Then get in the car in the pits, reset pressures to 'normal' using the black box.
Boom, a splitter 5mm closer to the ground and worth 0.3 seconds a lap at COTA.
Me and John had the discussion a while ago and John reported it to Tony Gardner but you can still do it.
What happens is that iracing doesn't recheck the setup unless you go to the garage to adjust it so you can perform this in the warm up for the race, not change the set in the garage and it will carry through to the race if you do it right.

I am glad they will fix it. But, I also think it's cool that little tricks like this can be found by the crafty among us. It's kind of like a crew chief finding every little way he can to skirt the rules for an advantage. Laser inspection post race anyone? LOL

In mid 80's a well known driver to all Aussies (Dick Johnson) found a loop hole in the rules where he could reduce the weight of his V8 Falcon to that of a 6 cylinder Falcon. I'm not sure how much weight was taken out but he removed every nut and bolt not being used. He won the Sandown 500 by a country mile. A month later for Bathurst the rule had been changed lol

Dick Johnson is a legend just for his onboard videos.

So, I don't think it's going to be fixed soon

if I understand correctly:
1. I pump the tyres and make sure the ride heights are set to minimum in the setup window. Run check and make sure the button is green 2. put the car in the pits and lower the tyre pressures in pits 3. enjoy faster lap times
how does it work in a race? are we forced to start from pits to use this exploit? Doesn't it ruin the advantage?

You do it in the 'warm up' part of the server. The new much shorter practice sessions can make it quite difficult to do now (due to time) so if you want to try it I suggest adjusting front pressures only.
You're not forced to start in the pits at all, the only thing you're forced to do is qualify on race fuel.
But do note, you CANNOT perform this in qualifying as you're not allowed to change tyres/fuel in a Q session anymore.
Cars this probably works very well on are the new Nissan, HPD and DP since they are very aero sensitive. Maybe even works on the F1 too.

Now if the front end is that much lower, couldn't it end up in a condition where you are actually on the splitter in a bump or cornering which could upset the balance of the car? Or does the splitter just cruise through the digital track without colliding?

It can but if you use telemetry and get it all figured out then you can avoid that

What I forgot to mention... this "cheat" isn't working... since the original setup is loading when you click on "GRID".
