But I agree, that's a lot of money for a pretty ZR1

Yeah, I was about to say. It's a $240,000 GT500 haha. But if $240,000 was walkin-around money like it is for rich guys, I would buy one solely to support the notion. It looks to have fantastic attention to detail, and it takes the current retro trend to a new level of execution.
I'd rather go buy a brand new ZL1 Camaro and spend $50,000 putting a '69 Z28 body around it though. Or just break down and buy an SRT Viper. I don't know what it is about that car. It's slower than the ZR1 (mostly due to the tire selection from the factory though). But it's just... meh. I think it is exactly what American performance should be. And it still has "F*ck the environment" written in bold on those six-foot-long valvecovers.

yeah, I get what you mean about the viper. It's not all about speed, that car seems to bring so much joy somehow

What is wrong with you jerks! Dont you disrespect the Viper! SRT released the TA version of the viper just to beat the ZR1 @ laguna seca. And even the TA version was on sh!ttier tires than the vette. And lol @the random test with racing slicks......DAT 3 SECOND ADVANTAGE

When the track/performance version of the viper comes out.....like a new ACR......I will sell my body on the streets to save up enough coin to buy it.

Haha I heard about this, but this is the first time I actually saw the video, still need to read the article if they wrote one.
The second I read the article about the ZR1/Viper at Laguna Seca I immediately thought "Well, if Viper loses now... they're gonna win in 6 months when the boys up in SRT lose their SHIT over losing".
The TA sort of reminds me what Chevrolet did with their 1LE Track Pack on the Camaro. It's not an all out crazy fucking lunatic of a race car you can drive on the road. It's still hand-stitched leather. It still looks like a street car.
And another thing. I CANNOT believe SRT didn't run the Pilots on the Viper. Any edition. IT ALREADY COSTS AS MUCH AS THE ZR1. If they gave it the tire to match, it probably would have been a hell of a lot closer, or won. The first time.
Oh and on that note. It's Randy Fucking Pobst. He's the MAN. If he's not confident driving the car, it's for a damn reason. So go home SRT, you're drunk. He drives your car, gives you positive feedback. And then you blame it on him that he was "always afraid of the Viper", yet he hops right back in and gives more positive feedback and good words. Go Pobst.
Chevy will inevitably respond with the Z07 Stingray, or possibly bring back the ZR1-code car in wicked forced-induction vengeance.
