So it occurred to me tonight as I rolled off of the couch to take a shower and go to bed, that I have not been doing much of any physical activity lately. Especially compared to a few years ago when I was boxing, playing soccer, or backyard football with my friends just about every day. And am currently in what has to be the worst shape I've ever been. Wow. Apparently, when you drink pop and beer all day and don't do shit, your body slowly morphs into a barrel-like apparatus.
It came as such a random shock to me that I immediately put my shorts back on, walked out into the living room, and did some crunches and pushups.
Looks like I can add my old Army PT training back into my schedule so long as my brain's okay with it. When I moved down here I started working out, but quickly overdid it for both my physical ability, and the head injury, and it did not end well (lots of vomiting and a general non-desire to continue life in a conscious state lol), which is why I've not been doing it for a few months. But now I pretty much just get headaches often and for no reason, and I didn't feel dizzy or like there was a gremlin with a big AR10 trying to blast .308 caliber holes through my skull until he could escape. So, I don't have an excuse to be this ungodly out of shape.
Plus when I move back to Michigan I'll have probably more lady-friends to hang out with than man-friends to hang out with, and I don't want to look like I've been living on bacon grease and Spam.

My athletic, fantastic shape weight is usually in the 185 range. 195 if I'm not actually focused on leaning out the muscle and do more heavy weight training than cardio/light weight stuff like I would for boxing. But right now I'm probably 215-220 lol.

Also, iRacing has made me get a bit out of shape too. Bar working, iRacing and having a girlfriend I havent had much time left. So training has been on the down-low for me too and this made me go weigh myself. Not at all as bad for me thou, only gained 4-5 lbs during the last 2 months. Still not good thou.
Does this mean I have to start working out too?

Haha. There were a couple months where I was lifting weights about every day and I was 215 in good shape. But it was before I started boxing, and I was actually really slow with my arms. I could hit hard, but the reaction time of a larger, lower-density muscle structure just isn't there. You can see the huge difference in muscle structure between the competitive light/banterweight boxers and the heavy/superheavyweight boxers. And in how fast their arms move haha.
I'd rather be dense, 195, and normal looking than look ripped, be 215, and feel strong but slow.
Side note, I did a little shadowboxing to warm up today and almost puked at how slow I've gotten. Holy damn.

Lol, it's sad how quickly the body detoriate when not working out really. The only good thing is, if you've been in decent shape before, it isn't that hard to become it again. Ive more or less always been light like a feather, match weight around 120-125 lbs. When I was injured a few years ago, I stopped working out altogether and just ate like a baboon and did all things to get as fat as possible (sub-consciously lol). Weighed at most nearly 180 lbs. And going from being a lean fucking body to that is fucking horrifying. But it took less than a month to lose it and become quite fit again.

Yeah, same here. 10-20 pounds isn't that tough to shed. I have probably 30ish lbs to burn off and trade for 10 more lbs of not-fat, so it shouldn't take much more than a month or two of regular exercise to drop below 195 ish. When I moved down here I sort of did the same thing til it started messing with my PCS and I went from 209 to 198 in about two weeks.
Up until about 8-9th grade I was more of a medium build at like 140-150, but by senior year I got to be more... husky I guess. I always played a lot of sports on the weekend and exercised a lot and by around senior year in high school I was probably 180 ish, and first year of college I was still in really good shape and about 190. One side of my family is all short, stout Germans. The other is all medium height but still relatively husky Dutch. I'm impressed I ended up being around 5'11", shoulda been about 5'5" looking at my parents lol.
I'm kinda curious if I could even go below 185 anymore. Typically I'll hit 185 and then put muscle on up to 190-195 and level out about there. But I don't think I could actually stay below 185 in any kind of shape, good or bad. I'd have to eat nothing and run a hundred miles a day.

Hahaha I loved that one.
I'm between reps right now. Can't decide if I hate being fat, or hate working out. Cause I don't remember it being this rough. Haha. I used to be able to kick out this regiment and go play soccer after haha. I'm halfway through and finding the floor much more comfortable than I had originally believed to be possible.

Well, after the first light week I'm already hovering right around 200.0. I think right my plan right now is to just eat whatever the fuck I feel like and work out like an animal up until school starts, and then just do maintenance exercise and not eat as much. I have hyploglucemia, so low blood suger, and whenever I start workout out I eat like CRAZY or I'll run out of energy. Probably why I like energy drinks haha. Huge dose of sugar plus huger dose of caffeine = Happy Travis.

Fuck off Brad, I bet you're sterile.
I'm down to 202. But I haven't been working out at all since I started at Trader Joe's. Funny that you bumped this thread just now, because as of tonight I am officially on a very strict diet and exercise plan. Head shit hasn't been improving, and cardio and working memory drills are the only real ways to try and help.
