Well first of sweetFX dosnt work with Oculus +1.0 version and probably never will what I've read. Second you wanna experiment with the pixel density and AA and find a good match but a PD over 200 won't do any better just reduce performance. And last you can't have overlay in the rift yet, will probably come later in the future. I use Digital racing engineer, there is a thread about it in the VR sub forum on iRacing. It uses Vocie attack and iRacing API (no idea really how it works). But with that I can after a few laps ask the DRE to do a lot of very usefull stuff like. Fuel Needed - Calculates the fuel needed to Finnish the session based on fuel data from the previous laps. Laps left - Laps left in session, works very good in timed races. Laps left in tank - Laps left based on fuel data. Time left in tank - time left in tank based on fuel data. And alot more stuff like pit options and general information on track. For example when a faster car is catching you it gives you a heads up. Same if you went off track and a car I approaching. There should be a demo version to try out. goddammit i just paid for JRT full version a few weeks back! But thanks for the heads up. I saw the videos of the DRE and looks interesting. For now I think i'll stick to the iRacingPitCrew software that does pit strategy in the background and fixes it as soon as you enter pit lane. The DRE is next one on my list of investigations

Sounds strange... All I hear is that you want to be as close as possible to the lens the get the best fov and glare. I used the B lenses (the big ones)

I use the other lenses (the ones that are shorter) and if I push it a bit further my fov gets better. i am a bit shortsighted (-1,25) so that might play a role when "seeing" better... no idea though

I agree with all what Mattias says. With my 1070, I found that 125 pixel and 4x AA is my sweet spot. Not much difference to my eye between 100 and 150. Not much better from 150 to 200 either but performance hit is huge. To keep FPS locked at 90 in a full field, I have set shader quality to medium and no shadow volumes. Everything else fairly maxed out.
I also use DRE and it is amazing. Well worth the price paid for the full version. Took some time to memorize a few of the commands (still trying), but you can edit them to your liking as well if you are comfortable with Voice attack. DRE would still be great for those not using VR too. I am surpurised it hasn't become more of a big deal on the forums.
Also, the two size lenses on the DK2 are for different eye prescription types, not just for spacing so that may be a factor for you. The turn knob slot on the sides s for spacing, not the lenses.

Yeah, I know the two different lenses are for different eye types, but the "long" ones were really not comfortable as they were sitting on my nose and touching my eyelashes too much. Maybe next time i'll stop using mascara and that could help the knob on the sides is already set for max spacing, i'll try to fiddle with that. having just paid for the JRT full option, having to pay for both voice attack and DRE is kind of a meh... is there a crack for voice attack?

Yeah maybe the eyelash extensions need to go if you are looking like this ... I don't know of any crack for VA but there may be one out there. It's a pretty useful program either way. I use it in pretty much every game I play now.

For anyone who has a VR headset, I suggest firing up Dirt Rally again.
I tried it today and the sense of immersion is fantastic. I used to struggle to stay 2nd or 3rd in the championship i was doing, and by jumping in for 30m and without practice, i was constantly 1st giving 10s per stage at my competitors. The feeling of braking and speed is much better and you "sense" when to brake. It's really an eye opener to what VR will become in a few years. Entering a corner sideways, rally style, and looking sideways out of the window to follow the direction of the car is something quite remarkable.

Even build my self a handbrake for it Same goes with drifting in Asetto corsa. Before VR and handbrake i had some problems but now i can drift no stop

Haha.. yes there is a lot things that's starting to show up with VR that the game designer didn't bother with because, who's gonna see it

It was very cool during the dgfx race last week.. I was driving on pit lane a car length or so behind the another car and I could not see our box. With the rift on I was able to lean over and see around the car ahead.
Still not sure if this is more realistic or less because I guess in real life you'd be strapped in tight. Still cool none the less.

Thanks Tommy Vandergucht. Unfortunately they offer just up to -8, and the guy already paid 88€ for his lenses. I'd need something in the range of -16 to -17, so I'd have to contact them for lenses being custom made and than it becomes horrendously expensive I'd imagine. So for now I'll wait it out and see if either Occulus comes up with a solution in the near future or something else pops up that solves the problem ^^
