6Th season, finally made it up to Asian Championship as well after spending ALOT on car development & new parts at the start of the last season. Its not about just having one good season though, you really need everything in a balance to get the car good enough. you should have things at 3 stars id say to make a decent attempt at the championship for the Euro League. You need 3 star drivers minimum, no rookies, atleast one that has decent feedback (15+ id say) some usefull bonus traits from the engineer are handy a decent designer the year before to make sure you get a decent chassis enough money to develop the car as soon as its designed. Making sure you have reliability up ASAP at the start of the season (got a few very nice finishes at the start of the season due to the competition falling out) Now its a whole new level of competition with completely different rules Qualyfing to get the hang of, No more refueling so its a lot more strategic now and less sprint race. less points (10-6-4-2-1 system) I don't even have 1.000.000$ in the bank right now and hardly making money so we'll see if i make it or not at the end of the season =) In my asian championship there is refueling and virtual safety car. I have no development and in the red but managed to get mu first win 4 races in after making one less stop then my competitiors and able to set the car up to 99%

I hear John "Badoer" King plays this too? i'm in my third season with ZRT, managed 2 wins season one and 1 win season 2. Almost always just strategy to keep the cars in clean air as much as possible to avoid that damn slow down effect in traffic. It also seems for me that I might as well never bother with the first part development as it's always fairly average. Much better to rush one of everything and then build second and thirds of everything which are actually good. Rule breaking parts are basically god mode but if you get caught you lose the part and plus the penalty each time gets more severe I noticed. Seems best to only do this on cheap ass parts or nearer season end.

I enjoyed the app, I'll probably pick it up when it's in the $10 range.

Not part of Steam sale +1 Waiting for the Christmas sale than Yep let's hope so. Normally new games get reduced within 6 months or so, especially if sales are bad. I will wait. I never buy steam games unless they are at least 50% off! :-) Plus I just binged and bought a whole heap of games! Plus I have a whole heap I have never played

So was wondering if anyone that is playing the game has made it to the world championship series? I am 2 time asian champion but wont accept promotion till i have upgraded all my hq in the mean time i am doing a Mercedes and dominating the series 3 years in a row. What is everyone else up to?

So, without internet access for 4 days meant that I could play this - a LOT!
I've being trying to play in career mode, starting in the lowest series to see what kind of effort it takes to move up. The answer is that it's pretty much impossible. No matter how well you do in the Europe series, you get totally hammered (and fired) when you take promotion. So, the other way will be too stay in the Europe series until you built up enough infrastructure (and spare money) to survive at the next level for a couple of years.
I've been playing with the Archer BMR team. I'm in season 6 now (with a few restarts after making unwise decisions). I've won the championship for the last 5 years but at the end of every season, I (having carefully saved the game before year-end) take a promotion and get killed in race 1 & 2. So, I go back and do another year. So, now working on building up at least 50m funds to make sure I can survive a season or 2 in the Asia championship.
Some general tips:
At the start of any year, the top prio is to get your reliability up to a decent level. So, as soon as pre-season testing is done, put all the mechanics on improving reliablity so that you don't break down 1st race.
For designs, build an average part, following as quickly as possible by 2 good/great ones. Only improve the reliability on the ones you're going to use - the average parts aren't much better than the base ones so don't bother with them.
The race tactic that seems to work the best (unless you're doing really badly at start at the front) is put as much fuel as possible in the car with the hardest tyres and cruise at the back for the 1st 5-6 laps until everyone pits, then hopefully you'll be at the front and can get a decent result.
It helps to swap the 2nd & reserve drivers after a few races - that gives then a good grid position. They get a bit pissed but they're virtual racing drivers - they can go fuck themselves :-)
Don't go onto Intermediates too quickly - the tracks has to be seriously wet for them to help (this seems like a bug at the moment)

I think i'm in 2026 or something now, third season in asia cup. but i need to rebalance my budget since i hardly have money for upgrading components.
drivers are also only 3.0-3.5 stars but with good potential, but they gain skills too slow to really make use of them.
my engineers also need replacing since my bonusses were aimed at fuel or faster pit stops in the euro league. But now with different rules, and not requiring refuel (or having the ability to add fuel) they need to change as well to something more usefull.
I also forgot to renew my designer the first time going into asia cup, so i had to pick up someone with not the best bonusses. also something that needs to be replaced as his contract is finally running out.

After 3 seasons of Wins and Podiums, I'm on the verge of being fired in season 4. I lost my #1 driver, promoted my #2 to #1 and hired a Finn as my #2. Now #2 is out racing #1 But the main problem is they both suck horrendously. I don't understand the point of drivers any lower than 3 Stars because they're completely bloody useless! So yeah, even finishing in the top 10 is making my Chairman unhappy and I've gone from Very Secure to At Risk in 5 races.

First thing i did when i got promoted from europe to asia was sign 4 star drivers mechanics and designer. Spent 5 million in the red to make sure i developed parts and was able to finish 4th in constructors which secured good money and helped me increase money from sponsorship. Now with winning a few asian championships i am making money during races thanks to 4 star sponsorship and signing very cheap 4 star drivers. Im paying only 500k each for drivers where i see other teams are paying upto 1.5 mil

The most disastrous thing that happened to me is that my designer retired (no warning) just as the next years car started to get designed. So, my car was designer by a zero star person. To say it was crap is an understatement.
A couple of quick questions:
1) Has anyone discovered where the saved files are - I can't bloody find them! 2) Are you all writing down setups for each track? Does it help the next time you visit the track (an obvious thing to do but I haven't been doing it so far!)
